News: Ludacris Gets Political and Gets Denounced, Jay-z Dismisses Timbaland Album Rumor

Ludacris drops "Politics (Obama is Here)"

Earlier this week, Ludacris dropped his highly-anticipated Gangsta Grillz Mixtape titled "The Preview" (check The Stash to get your copy). On there is a freestyle over Young Buck's "Get Buck" titled "Politics"; an ode to presidential candidate Barack Obama. Luda (who as announced as a Barack supporter in 2006) shows support for Barack and his campaign, but apparently, not all support is good support. Politicians feel Ludacris' lyrics about Hilary Clinton, Jesse Jackson, Sen. McCain, and Bush were offensive. Here's some lines he drops:

"Said I handled his biz and I'm one of his favorite rappers
Well give Luda a special pardon if I'm ever in the slammer
Better yet put him in office, make me your vice president
Hillary hated on you, so that b**ch is irrelevant
Jesse talking slick and apologizing for what?
if you said it then you meant it how you want it have a gut!
and all you other politicians trying to hate on my man,
watch us win a majority vote in every state on my man
you can't stop what's bout to happen, we bout to make history
the first black president is destined and it's meant to be
the threats ain't fazing us, the nooses or the jokes
so get off your ass, black people, it's time to get out and vote!
paint the White House black and I'm sure that's got 'em terrified
McCain don't belong in ANY chair unless he's paralyzed
Yeah I said it cause Bush is mentally handicapped
Ball up all of his speeches and I throw em like candy wrap
cause what you talking I hear nothing even relevant
and you the worst of all 43 presidents
get out and vote or the end will be near
the world is ready for change because Obama is here!"

The Obama support from hip hop is great, but I can see why this would give off the wrong impression. I can definitely see oppressors using this against Barack. Barack Obama's camp has denounced this song and said Ludacris should be ashamed of these lyrics. I find it funny that politicians are listenin to Gangsta Grillz mixtapes.

Jay-z Denies Rumor of a Fully-Produced Timbaland Album

Recently Timbaland spoke about thoroughly producing an album for Jay-z with an "international" sound and how he's even using bagpipes in the production. The rumor generated some hype since Jay and Timbo showed some good chemistry with tracks like "Big Pimpin", "The Bounce" and "Dirt Off Your Shoulders". Jay denied the rumors about the project saying "You know I love Timbaland, he is like a brother to me, but until the music is done it’s premature," Jay told Rolling Stone. "I’m a person that works off music." Jay-z also talked about how he decides how production will be handled based off who brings the best music. He stated "If Timbaland makes 10 great tracks then he produces the album,". "If Kanye West makes 10 great tracks then he produces the album; if he makes three, I’ll take three. I let the music dictate the direction."
I was a little skeptical on the project myself. Three to four tracks per album is always good, but I don't know if those two possess the same chemistry that JT and Missy share with Timbaland to make a fully hot album. The two are masters at what they do, but that doesn't necessarily mean it'll work.
